Policy Makers with devolution happening in 2021, we need to make sure that diversity and inclusion is at the heart of policy.

Leeds City Region is the largest economic area outside of London, home to 2.8 million people and responsible for generating £57.7bn in economic output each year.

Our economic geography reflects the way our economy really functions including the way businesses and supply chains operate, and the way that local residents travel to work and live their lives.

93% of people who live in the City Region also work in the City Region, demonstrating the strong economic links between the City Region districts.

West Yorkshire is to get its own elected mayor, unlocking an expected £1.8bn in investment for the area, the Chancellor has confirmed in the Budget. BBC reported on 11 March 2020.

What 5 things would you change for our region through positive campaigns?

“I am delighted to introduce the Charity Commission’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for 2019 to 2023.

I am passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in all its forms, its importance and benefits and doing so beyond the legal minimum; the core basics of fairness and respect for difference, equality of opportunity and treatment across gender, disability mental and physical and different abilities, BAME and LGBT+ rights, championing those with caring responsibilities, including dementia care, part time workers and more.

We want to role model an inclusive environment, where every employee feels able to bring their whole self to work and feels comfortable sharing information about who they are (if they want to).”
